WESTERN WAYNE SCHOOLS
“Nurturing Powerful Learners”
At Western Wayne, we strive to make each student a well-rounded individual. Focusing not only on educational needs, but their physical, emotional and social needs as well. Learning is not enough; we want our students to learn how to learn. The ultimate goal for each person is to be successful, but success is defined differently for everyone. For some that may include college and for others it may be trade focused; but overall, we want our students to be prepared and be a positive asset to the world as they follow their own path.

“Nurturing Powerful Learners”
5 PILLAR PHILOSOPHY
To create lifelong learners, we take a more nurturing approach versus instructional approach and focus on 5 Pillars: Impact, Community, Empowerment, Joy and Teamwork.
CAREER PATHWAYS
During a student’s school journey, we want to focus on career pathways instead of just graduation pathways. Our vocational program, Ag department, auto shop, and business program all work to enhance career skills. We are working on replicate a manufacturing program on site to further offer education and opportunities.
SAFETY AND SECURITY
Safety is a focus, with our buildings have secure entrances and school resource officers in both buildings. We work with a 3rd party organization to provide counseling and social work for students who may need it and work with Communities in Schools to assure all students are getting the food they need.
SMALL SCHOOL BENEFITS
We have a very tight-knit environment where everyone knows each other and are active in extracurricular activities. We have an open club policy where if 10 or more students want to start a club, no matter the topic, we will assign a teacher to oversee the club.
TECHNOLOGY
All students have personalized learner profiles and Google sites. The school partners with Google to also monitor student emails and storage to help identify any problem areas that may arise.
